Custom Engraved Phenolic Labels

Custom Engraved Phenolic Labels

Phenolic labels are rigid, multi-layer engraved plates used for permanent identification on electrical panels, switchgear, disconnects, transformers, and industrial equipment — the identification that has to stay legible for the life of the gear. Custom Phenolic Labels engraves them to your panel schedules and one-lines, and ships them nationwide from Kennesaw, Georgia.

What we engrave

Panel directories and circuit identification for panelboards and load centers; disconnect and main-distribution labels; switchgear, transformer, and bus-duct nameplates; voltage marking; and equipment ID for industrial and commercial facilities. Text is engraved into the material, not printed or adhered, so it can't peel, smudge, or fade.

A note on the material

Our labels are not made from true resin-based phenolic. They're manufactured from multi-layer engraving laminates — the material the industry has long called "phenolic." It's non-conductive, UV- and chemical-resistant, and engraved for permanence, which is what NEC-compliant electrical identification and OSHA safety marking call for. When a project genuinely requires true high-heat phenolic, that's available on request.

Built around the files you already use

We engrave directly from the panel schedules, one-line diagrams, and CAD files (Excel, .DWG, .DXF, PDF) electrical contractors already work from — so a finished directory becomes finished labels without re-keying. You approve a proof before anything is cut, and orders can be sorted for the job.

Who we serve

Frequently asked questions

Are phenolic labels the same as acrylic labels?

Most labels sold as phenolic today use micro-surfaced, impact-modified acrylic engraving stock. True resin-based phenolic is reserved for specialty applications.

Do engraved phenolic labels meet electrical identification requirements?

Engraved identification is durable and permanent. The exact requirement depends on the adopted code edition and the authority having jurisdiction.

When is true phenolic required?

Use true phenolic when a verified material specification, heat condition, or specialty application explicitly requires it.
